Week two......still standing!
Well another week, although a short one, is complete! We are finally getting into a grove, things are flowing smoother, and we're having LOT'S of fun!! We have split into 3 and 4 year old groups this week, and it is working out better than I could have imagined. We all start our day together on our big rug, pray the morning offering, and have show and tell. Then the 4 year olds travel next door with Mrs. Watts and Mrs. Donaldson and do their craft, have centers, snack and a recess while I have instructional time with the 3 year olds. At about 9:20 we switch and do it all over again! It is a lot to cram in, but somehow it always manages to work out!
We finished up our theme on trees today and will be moving on to our next theme which is about homes. We will be learning more about our homes as well as the types of homes various animals live in.
When we returned to school on Tuesday we celebrated a very special young lady's birthday. She and her momma made delicious ice cream cone cupcakes for the entire class. They were a hit, the kids really enjoyed them, if you couldn't tell from the pictures!
I'm kinda bummed because I looked at our chrysalis's this afternoon before I left school, and one butterfly had emerged. So I'm betting the rest will be out by Sunday. I was really hoping it would have happened while were there to watch! Oh well, they will enjoy watching when we release them next week!
Today (Friday) the kids wore a red shirt, which is the color we have been talking about thus far. We read a book today called "Who said Red", learned a song about the color red, and of coarse then we painted with what else but RED paint!
Looking forward to another fabulous week! Here are a few pictures from this week, enjoy!

Classroom Happenings
In addition to the weekly notes I will be posting on our blog some of the things happening in our classroom.
The kiddos are having a great time in preschool......and so am I!!
Mrs. Dent's kindergarten class came and sang a few songs to us on Wednesday during snack time, the kids really enjoyed it. Their favorite song was "peanut butter & jelly."
We went for a "nature walk" this week and the kids collected various leaves, walnuts, acorns, pecans, and other treasures! This activity coincides with our current theme about trees.
We had some excitement on Friday when we checked on our caterpillars.....they have made their chrysalises, and now we wait for butterflies! We read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," then the kids used stamps to illustrate the life cycle of a butterfly.
We have 3 turtles in our science center. They remain nameless so I am challenging you who read our blog to submit names for our turtles! We will announce the names of our friends soon!
I had a great weekend with my family, and am ready for a fun week at school! Have a great week!
